Holistic Ag Relief Drive

GREEN PASTURES.jpg

On any other day of the week you'd find Aaron Lucich, owner-grazer of Holistic Ag, guiding his herd of 200 cattle to graze through the hilly Pepperwood Preserve in Sonoma County. But in the aftermath of the Tubbs Fire this month, his cows have no grassland to call home!

When the fire ravaged his area, Aaron was miraculously able to rescue every one of his animals by creating his own firebreak, herding them to safety through the flames. However, by the time the fire was contained, all of their grazing land was lost.

While Aaron, his family, and the cattle are safe, his business is in ashes. He lost all of his equipment and infrastructure - a total of $50,000 worth - which insurance does not cover, and now must pay $9,000/month to bring in hay to feed his herd while he searches for land to temporarily relocate.

Holistic Ag operates one of the most innovative and eco-friendly regenerative grazing programs in the world, which sustainably raises grass-fed cattle while enriching the local ecosystem. But they can’t run without grassland for their cows to roam. Aaron needs support to relocate the cows for 5-6 months until the grass regrows, along with supplemental feed, repairs and replacements for ranching infrastructure.
